PREFACE
It’s our privileges as well as honor to prepare and present this annual publication that tells the brief story of SARASWATI SHAKTI PEETH SHIKSHA SAMITI for the year ended at 31st March 2017.Throughout the year, SARASWATI SHAKTI PEETH SHIKSHA SAMITI was continuously putting its sincere efforts to provide effective service to the people at a large to whom our organization is dedicated since its inception. During this period, the functionaries including the inmates have discharged their responsibilities independently acting as intermediary link with the Governing Body at the apex and the people of the grass-root levels. It has been actively involved with their never ending problems and evolving strategies for the development of the un-privileged, under-privileged and exploited people of the society.
On the one hand when we look forward to improve the health, educational, economic status of the poor people, on the other we give equal emphasis on overall social development aspect. We are also rendering noble service at the time of natural calamities. Financial constraint has been a major hurdle till date in fulfilling, our all dreams .Yet, we are still now moving forward with a positive attitude and as we believe in the saying, “If there is a will, there is way”. Hence once success will come.

ANNUAL REPORT FOR THE YEAR 2016-17
SARASWATI SHAKTI PEETH SHIKSHA SAMITI, after thorough review its activities during the previous year, implemented the following programmes during the year 2016-17 in its project areas. Details are given below;
AIDS AWARENESS PROGRAMME:-
Our Organization conducted awareness camps on prevention and control of STD/HIV/AIDS to aware the innocent poor people on this kind of disease, its effects, results, measures to be taken for its prevention. Many eminent persons, men of repute attended these camps and delivered their fruitful lectures on this matter and its prevention. About 100 people attended the camps and benefitted through the camps at Ujjain and Gwalior District of Madhya Pradesh.
FAMILY WELFARE PROGRAMS:-
Our society has organize family welfare camps in various villages of Gwalior district for adoption of family planning method. So that we xcan control on population and provide good quality facilities to children. Morethan 200 people both male and female were aware.
CONSUMER AWARENESS PROGRAMS
SARASWATI SHAKTI PEETH SHIKSHA SAMITI, organised an consumer awareness camp for the protection of consumers in Gwalior district in the month of December 2016. A legal expert was invited by the organization to aware the participants about the Consumer Acts made by the State/Central Government and amendments made in Acts time-to-time for the protection of consumers and legal rights and duties of people as a consumer. 200 youths and student join this camp and became benefitted.
ENVIRONMENT AWARENESS PROGRAMME:-
SARASWATI SHAKTI PEETH SHIKSHA SAMITI has organized environment awareness programme. Under this programme people were aware about various type of environmental problems like; air, water, land, forest, noise, solid waste etc. experts of the various topics were called and participants took much more interest in group discussion and debate. 100 people were aware and distributed the plant.
DISABLED WOMEN ASSISTANCE:-
Women who are disabled in our society is facing a lot of problem and mostly the neglected by their family members and parents also feel it a disabled girl is burden for family. Our society has started a unique project and started to search disabled girls and women and aware them to take benefit of government schemes and also do efforts to provide vocational training so that they can standup on own feet for surviving better life.
HEALTH CAMP:-
A programme on health and hygiene has been organized in Ujjain and Gwalior District. In this programme 200 women participated. The subject matter was – “Reasons for Child Mortality and Women Health” which occurred mostly during pre/post pregnancy period. The other common diseases identified were diarrhea, hepatitis, cancer, malaria, Sugar, Blood Pressure, Heart Attack etc. In this programme “Personal Hygiene” was also discussed.
LEGAL CONSULTANCY:-
In present time due to lack of knowledge and financial problem rural and urban poor people would not be able to fight against crime and exploitation. So our society has started legal consultancy service to poor people free of cost. Till now we have settled morethan 100 cases in favour of poor people.
WELFARE PROGRAMME FOR HANDICAPPED PERSON:-
Our society is working with handicapped person especially because handicapped person neglected from both side means from family and society. Disability being a girl is a major problem at all aspect of life like health, education, social security and fight for own rights. So our society has identified mostly handicapped person in district and time to time help them and guide about various development schemes and their reservation for benefit. Morethan 60 disabled persons were benefited during the financial year.
PULSE POLIO CAMP:-
Our NGO is playing a major role in eradication of polio from our society. Volunteer of the NGO help to government department officers and workers in Pulse Polio camp and bring each and every child for polio drop upto booth level in Gwalior and Ujjain districts. Our volunteers also visited door to door with polio team and promote the people for polio drop to their children upto 5 years of age.
STREET CHILDREN PROGRAMME:-
A programme on Street Children/Working Children was organised by the society on labour day. In this programme the voluntary aware the public about Street Children, Working children and told them about labour act the participants. The society has organised various camps at Gwalior district for the welfare of women & child labour in the various villages and towns. The President of the Society in his
speech speaks about the value of Women & Child in the community. Morethan 200 people were aware for prevention of child labour.
MAHILA JAGRUKATA CAMP:-
A 3 days Women Awareness Camp for women was organised by SARASWATI SHAKTI PEETH SHIKSHA SAMITI, at Gwalior district. 150 Women and Girl participants joined this camp. Legal experts were invited in this camp for the discussion on various Laws & Acts made for women and girls. Local issues like Child Marriage, Prostitution, women and girl trafficking, domestic violence, Abortion, AIDS, Child Labour, Dowry system etc. were discussed. Arrangements were made by the organisation for video-shows, visit of local police station, Jail and Court for the participants.
SAVE GIRLS PROGRAMME:-
In present time graph of sex ratio between male and female has decreased rapidly behind this reason is aim of male child of family members, availability of PNDT test, abortion system etc. are responsible for killing of girl child before birth. Our society has started to aware the rural and urban people of Ujjain and Gwalior district about importance of girl child and gender equality in society. We have also complain against various ultrasound centres who identify the sex of baby pre-birth. With the help of our efforts in targeted villages mentality of people has change and nuber of girl child has increased.
YUVA EKTA PROGRAMME:-
As we know youth are future of our nation and play a major role in growth of economy and work force so creating a youth integration is very important. In this programme we call youth from other districts and neighbouring states to understand the culture of each other also discuss about knowledge and technology. Every year morethan 100 youths participant in the programme.
NASHA MUKTI CAMP:-
SARASWATI SHAKTI PEETH SHIKSHA SAMITI ogranised Drugs Eradication Programmes in various villages of Shivpuri and Ujjain district, aimed at raising awareness about the bad effects of the alcoholism and drinking. The volunteers of the Society went into the villages to raise consciousness about the effects of smoking and drinking and use of tobacco, drugs, bidi, cigarette etc,. During the campaign help of posters and banners was taken to make the presentation. It was demonstrated that thousands of people die every year because of the use of tobacco and other like things. Organization is running a treatment-cum counseling centre for druggist people. Morethan 100 people were aware about bad effect of drugs and alcohol.
ROAD SAFETY PROGRAMME:-
In present time to urbanization and modernization of society number of vehicles and transportation has increased which raised the number of road accident. Our society staff organize awareness camp about road safety rules and regulations in various schools and colleges. Because we have seen it mostly accident happened due to mistake of new young age drivers. Our volunteers are also help to local police during the road safety week in district of Ujjain and Shivpuri.
WELFARE PROGRAM FOR POOR OLD AGE PERSON:-
Our society is providing medical and other facilities to older person who do not want to stay in old age home. Our staffs every month visited in rural areas and organized awareness camp cum help centre for listen the poor older person problem and help them in Gwalior district.
VOCATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAM FOR SELF EMPLOYMENT:-
Keeping in the mind the objectives of removal of poverty by eradicating the problems of employment in women the SARASWATI SHAKTI PEETH SHIKSHA SAMITI , has been instrumental in taking various concrete steps in the direction of removal of poverty. The Society has started a training programmes at Ujjain and Gwalior district. In this training programmes women and girls are provided training in different trades like Computer Training, Tailoring and Cutting, Embroidery, Darri Making, Candle and Agarbati Making, Food Processing, Fashion Designing etc. by experienced trainers. In this center trainees are provide training in field of Manual Art know as Handicraft. The main aim of this programme is to make the trainees well skilled so that they may become self-depend and stand on their own feet. 100 women were trained in various trades. Some are doing job and some are doing self-work.
